Singapore's First Water Week sees deals worth over S$367M (US$270M) and international initiatives to boost water research and investments. Agreements signed between water authorities and companies from Singapore, India, Japan, Middle East, Europe and US; water fund launched to attract S$435m (US$320m) in Asian water investments, which ADB also vows to boost.

The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) held a seminar on "The Netherlands, Your European Partner in International Business" on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore. The seminar coincided with the visit of Mr Frank Heemskerk, the Netherlands Minister for Foreign Trade who officiated at the event. Mr Heemskerk was in Singapore to hold talks with Singapore's Trade and Industry Minister, Mr Lim Hng Kiang and launch the soft opening of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce held on May 19, 2008.

Post Event Highlights: Promoting Investments in the Netherlands - Gateway to Europe (2007)

In conjunction with GES 2007, the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) held a seminar on "Promoting Investments in the Netherlands - Gateway to Europe" on November 14, 2007 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore. Aimed at CEO's, senior management and decision-makers, the meeting provided an insight into business opportunities in the Netherlands. A total of 47 participants attended the NFIA seminar which featured the role of the newly opened NFIA office in Singapore; and developments within the logistics industry; and tax and financial considerations, as well as other crucial information for foreign companies wishing to take advantage of the dynamic Dutch business environment as a strategic base to cover Europe, with a view to expand their global reach in the international marketplace.

Post Event Highlights: NFIA opens office in Singapore

October 26, 2007 marked the official opening of the Singapore office of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA). Located within the Dutch Embassy, the office, headed by Area Director, Ms Linnie Mackenzie serves as the local base from which to raise the profile of Singapore companies venturing into the Netherlands and Europe.
