Short stay pilot scheme in Holland for highly skilled migrantsWhy invest in Holland?… because Holland welcomes highly-skilled knowledge migrants
Expeditious immigration procedures; a no-strings-attached selection based only on a relatively low income requirement; and an attractive country of residence make the Netherlands one of the most desirable destinations in Europe for highly-skilled workers, investors and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, Dutch governmental organization, the NFIA (Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency), can offer free, confidential and up-to-date immigration advice. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment has announced a short stay pilot scheme for highly-skilled migrants (30 years old and above) working in the Netherlands for up to 90 days; for example, for those working on short-term projects or providing training or consultation services. All employers that have been approved for the highly sfkilled migrant procedure by the IND (Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service) may participate in the pilot scheme.
The pilot scheme means that an application for a work permit is still required, but that the process for individuals who qualify as highly-skilled migrants is shortened significantly (from 5 to 2 weeks), and will require less paperwork. The pilot will run from 1 January 2012 until the end of 2013 in order to allow ample time to assess whether the simplified procedure should be implemented definitively.
